Charles A. Baxter, age 70 of Powder Springs, passed away July 3, 2012. Charles retired as co-owner of Baxter Brothers Machine Shop and then was employed by Cobb County School System at Garrett Middle School. He was an avid golfer Read Obituary
Ms. Elaine I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sorry i missed the funeral. I didn't know Charles very well, I only spoke with him on the phone a couple of times, but he was so polite when I called. I know if he was married to such a wonderful, thoughtful, caring and kind person like you, he had to be the same. I love you and my condolences to the Baxter family. Hope to see you soon!

Seems like only yesterday Marlene and me introduced ya'll to each other and we would double date. How much fun we all had back then. Our memories will stay with us forever. We will miss him!

I will miss Charles. I'm glad I had the opportunity to see him when he last visited Garrett. He was my friend and we used to pick muscadines by the cabin in the fall. We had many interesting converstaions after school. He was nice to me and would do anything for you if you needed help. He will be missed. My heart is so heavy after hearing of Mr. Baxter's passing. I am thankful to have had the pleasure of getting to know him when I taught at Garrett Middle School. He was very caring and kind to me, and he always looked out for me and other staff at Garrett.
