Carol June Wood's Obituary
Carol June Wood was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, to Norma Hudson and Egbert Morris. In 1978, Carol emigrated from Montego Bay to the United States, where she continued to build a life marked by professional excellence and personal devotion. She pursued her education with dedication, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Dominican College and an MBA from Sacred Heart University.
Carol was raised by Ina Bennett, whom they affectionately called “Ma.” Ina raised Carol from a toddler and instilled in her the values of family, hard work, and discipline. Ina and Carol’s bond ran deep throughout Carol’s entire life, and although Ina lives in Canada they made sure to spend Christmas holidays together over the last three decades, ensuring that no amount of separation would break the bond they established many years ago.
Carol made significant strides in her corporate career, starting as a staff consultant in 1998 and ultimately rising to the position of Controller at Magnolia Advanced Materials Inc in 2019. Throughout her career, her expertise in finance and accounting was widely recognized by her peers.
Carol was known as a trailblazer in her family, often defining her life on her own terms and taking risks that others might shy away from. She chased after her dreams with unwavering belief in herself, no matter how difficult the path seemed.
In addition to her remarkable career, Carol had a deep love for fashion, interior design, and building homes. She married Rocky Wood in September 1999, and together they built multiple homes and managed several rental properties in Georgia and Jamaica. Their adventurous spirit took them on travels across both coasts of the United States, the Caribbean islands, and to European cities like Amsterdam and Paris.
On April 5th 2023, she accepted Christ as her personal savior. Where she embarked on a new treale floor with a vigor in pursuing and understanding full fledge gospel. Carol was relentless in never missing her 5am prayer calls, and often times led in devotion. Her unwavering spirit has left indelible impression as a true ambassador for the gospel.
Carol transitioned from the terrestrial to the celestial on July 1, 2024, leaving behind her beloved husband, Rocky Wood; her cherished son, Nicholas McLaren; her siblings, Sylvan, Leroy, Lydia, Denise, and Dahlia; and other immediate family members. Carol’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Her passion for life, joyous spirit, and love for others were evident to everyone around her.
As we celebrate her life, we find solace in the knowledge that Carol is now resting in eternal peace and no longer dealing with pain. Her legacy of perseverance, dedication, and love will forever reside in our hearts and continue to inspire all who knew her.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
