Bryce Williams' Obituary
Williams, Bryce, 68, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2017 after losing a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Atlanta, GA to W.D. Williams and Elizabeth Williams (Harp). His father preceded him, while his mother survives him, Elizabeth Williams Harp.
He is also survived by his wife of 52 years, Cheryl Williams; 2 sons, Dodd Williams (wife, Dana) and Drew Williams (wife, Jennifer); 4 grandchildren, Nickolas, Jacob, Cassi, and Connor; 3 sisters, Jane Guinn, Joan Smith, and Nancy Cochran (John); and nieces and nephews.
He was employed by Philips Consumer Electronics Corp. for 20 years before taking an early retirement in 1990. He later became a licensed realtor. He was on the Development Authority of Douglas County and the Douglas County Board of Tax Assessors for a number of years.
He was an avid golfer and long-time member of the Chapel Hills golf course in Douglasville. He also enjoyed seasonal hunting with his grandchildren on the family farm.
Bryce was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather whose memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home on the East-West Connector, Austell from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held at Davis Cemetery in Austell with Rev. Borum officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Davis Cemetery c/o Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
