Bryce Lee Jordan Jr.'s Obituary
Bryce Lee Jordan, Jr. (BL), age 79, of Smyrna, passed away peacefully in his home on September 2, 2020, with loved ones at his side.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Bryce Lee Jordan, Sr. and Myrtle Whaley Jordan of Carrollton and Atlanta, Georgia. He is survived by his three loving sons, Jeffrey Lee (Natalie) Jordan, Kevin Scott Jordan, Michael Alan (Jennifer) Jordan; grandchildren, Tory, Landon, and Maxwell; adoring sister, Joy Jordan Hurst of Fayetteville; nephew, Chuck Hurst of Tampa FL; niece, Sara (Tim) Odell of Birmingham, AL; and devoted companion, Beverly Michael Attinello, RN.
BL proudly served his country for four years in the United States Navy as a medical specialist hospital corpsman. In this capacity, he honorably rendered service to both the U.S. Navy, and to the U.S. Marine Corps in San Diego, California.
BL explained the beginning of his successful real estate career as having "started out with a bicycle and newspaper route!" He remained a faithful subscriber, and a thorough reader of the AJC, to include the Obituaries, his entire life!
In spite of going to the movies often and getting extra-large popcorns, BL saved enough money and purchased his first house at the end of his Junior Year in high school! He explained it as one of the most exciting days of his life; and, remembered how elated he felt then for the rest of his life! Later, BL enthusiastically established Midtown Residences. This part of his career gave him the opportunity to teach his sons invaluable life skills; and, simply put, they each learned the value of hard work.
He will always be remembered for his wit, kindness, appreciation for family, adventurous spirit, and his love for water sports, especially sailing. A combination of these attributes gave him opportunities to crew and sail to many wonderful places, with many wonderful people.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, September 26th, 3:00 pm at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive guests beginning at 2:00 pm before the service.
