Brent's life path and mine crossed at a week long training class in Ellsworth Kansas. Brent was a great teacher and gave me knowledge that will help keep me safe as well as my fellow Officers. Brents family and freinds are in my prayers.##imported-begin##Les Richards##imported-end##
To the family and adoring close friends of Brent's....
I had met Brent about 1-2 months ago while greeting my brother & sis-law upon returning home and they were picking up my nieces-nephew from their trip fairly recently. Brent and his wife were with my brother.. I never knew Brent and basically exchanged a nodding hello, however, many that I have met that are surely my brother's close friends always are welcomed to our family in general. The day of his passing, my nieces and nephew were visibly moved and heartsick over losing him as a beloved friend. I have heard some really nice things about him..he obviously was someone special. I send my thoughts of healing and affection towards my brother's family and Brent's too. May this unfortunate time bring other's closer together with all that knew him. Sorry for the loss.##imported-begin##Kyle Preston ( Brother of Joel Preston) ##imported-end##
My condolences go out to the Stephens' family... Alot of memories came rushing into my head when I heard the awful news of Brent's passing. Brent you were my bestfriend as a child and we had alot of goodtimes together riding that old three wheeler, playing football with you and your brother Scott and just being a couple of goofy kids without a worry in the world. We grew apart once we hit Highschool and I regret not making more of an effort to rekindle our friendship. But no worries Brent I'll see you on the other side and we'll take up where we left off brother. Rest in peace buddy##imported-begin##Greg Singleton and Family##imported-end##

To the Brent Stephens Family,
I only met Brent a few times at the Training Center, but I know he was part of the brotherhood of law enforcement not just here but in our nation. I am saddened by your loss. May you remember the good times and know that he is smiling at you along with many others in Heaven. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dear Lori and family of Brent:
There are no words to tell you the pain that I feel for the loss of your husband, father, son and especially a friend. I just saw Brent recently at the training center. We passed each other in the hallway, smiled and said Hello. May it comfort you to know what a wonderful and caring person Brent was and how much we all appreciated him and his spunk and caring personality. He will not only be sorely missed at the Police Department but also in the comfort of his own home. Lori, take care of those two adorable children that you and Brent brought into this world. And just remember--he is watching over you everyday--every minute of the day--so look up and smile because he is smiling down at you! Our police family will be praying for you and your family and hoping that God will continue to give you the strenth that you need everyday to conquer this difficult time that has been put before you.
Brent--we love you and will miss you terribly--but just know that your wish was granted. Captain Arnold, Captain Patellis, Lt. Preston, Sgt. Maddox and all your SWAT team brothers--did an outstanding job with all the arrangements for you but especially for taking care of your wife and children. They made everything just perfect for you brother--I just wanted you to know that. Until we see each other again someday....##imported-begin##Brenda Carney##imported-end##
