Brenda Joy Duke Boulineau's Obituary
Joy Duke Boulineau, aged 69, and resident of Douglasville, Georgia, passed from this life on Monday, March 19, 2012 following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Joy was born on July 29, 1942 in Clarkdale, Georgia to A.O. and Mildred Hendon Duke. She attended schools in Cobb County, graduating from South Cobb High School in 1960. During her career she worked for Oxford Industries, Retail Credit Association and Delta Airlines, from where she retired in 1995. Among Joy’s great pleasures was travel and the company of family and friends. She delighted in trips to Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Hawaii, but perhaps her greatest enjoyment came from travelling to the many historic cities and sites within our United States. Joy is survived by her husband of 45 years, George Boulineau; a son, David Boulineau, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Perkins Boulineau, grand daughter, Sarah Leecy Boulineau; a brother, C. Thomas Duke and his wife Carol Duke; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Joy was a sweet and loving wife and mother and a kind and generous friend. Her gentle voice and bright spirit will be missed, but never forgotten. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 4:00 PM in the chapel at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends and guests at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
