Boyd Lee Cribb Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Boyd Lee Cribb Jr. of Lithia Springs, GA, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the age of 75.
Boyd was born to parents Boyd Sr. and Lola Belle on February 12, 1945 in a small farming town in North Carolina. He was the youngest boy out of twelve children. It was on the farm that he learned the value of the hard work needed to work his way through Freed-Hardeman University, where he met the love of his life. In 1965, he married his college sweetheart, Betty Jean. After graduation, he accepted his first ministry and helped to establish the Church of Christ in Jellico, TN.
Boyd was a devout man of God, describing the ministry of Christ as his “true calling.” Second only to his faith, he was a devoted and loving family man who demonstrated his love and compassion in many big and small ways, not the least of which was by providing for his family through thick and thin.
Boyd, affectionately known as “Papa,” will be loved and missed by Jean, his lovely wife of fifty-five years, their children Phyllis, Rebecca, Steven, daughter-in-law Ginny, their granddaughter Caitlin and her husband Cameron Garner and great-grandson, Brayden.
The family will hold a memorial honoring the life of Boyd at Lithia Springs Church of Christ on August 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to one of his favorite charitable causes such as the Georgia School of Preaching and Biblical Studies (https://gsoponline.org/), Memphis School of Preaching (https://msop.org/), Georgia AGAPE (https://www.georgiaagape.org/), Camp Inagehi (https://campinagehi.org/), or the Apologetics Press (http://apologeticspress.org/).
