Bonnie S. Vickery's Obituary
Bonnie Sue Vickery, age 73, of Mableton, GA, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010. She was born November 1, 1936, daughter of Reverend Furman and Janie Walters. The ninth of twelve children, she grew up in Toccoa, GA, and enjoyed the companionship of a large family. Bonnie made a decision early in life to trust Jesus as her Savior and was an active member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church for 43 years. She retired from Rayloc where she worked for 27 years. Bonnie took great pleasure in her children and grandchildren treasuring her time spent with them. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, James “Vic” Vickery; sons and daughters-in-law Danny and Dianne Smith of Mableton, Bill and Lisa Smith of Duluth; daughter and son-in-law Maria and Tom Travitz of Acworth; grandchildren Chesley, Darren, Jessie and Jana Smith and Ryan Travitz; sisters Claudine Whitworth and Sara Smith of Toccoa; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and step relatives. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Henry Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Mount Harmony Baptist Church, Mableton. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 3, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
