Bob Lee Ramsey's Obituary
Bob Ramsey, age 87 of Powder Springs passed away November 29, 2019. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Maribeth Longmire.
Bob was born in Port St. Joe, Florida and graduated from Port St. Joe High School. He went on to attend Florida State University School of Music.
Bob served as a Minister of Music at several area churches including Green Acres Baptist Church, Glen Forest Baptist Church, Mableton First Baptist Church and Powder Springs First Baptist Church.
He was a current member of Powder Springs First Baptist Church of Powder Springs GA where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the choir and orchestra.
Bob retired as Vice President of Consumer Finance at Fidelity Bank. He was a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus under Robert Shaw.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and was an avid sports fan. (Go Dawgs!)
Bob is survived by his wife, Betty Ramsey; children, Clay and Lora; grandchildren, Matthew, Catie, Nichole, Hannah and Rachel; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11:00 AM at Powder Springs First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Woods and Rev. Steve Jett officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bob’s name to The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, in care of Powder Springs First Baptist Church. 4330 North Avenue Powder Springs GA 30127.
