Billy Gene Hester's Obituary
Billy Gene Hester, age 90, of Mableton passed away June 29, 2024.
Billy was born in Dalton but raised in Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Amos, and Ray Hester.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Hester; son, Jeff Hester (Judy); granddaughter, Emma Rose Hester; sister, Mary Cunningham; brothers-in-law, Ron Morgan (Fran), Lamar Chatham (Sandra), and Joe Chatham; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A funeral service honoring Billy’s life will be held Saturday, July 6, 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Billy’s honor be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to Tranquility Hospice, c/o Wellstar Foundation; 475 Dickson Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30064.
