Beverly Ann Ferrara, 75 passed away peacefully on June 11, 2018 at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Georgia. Beverly was born on May 8, 1943 in Milford, Massachusetts to the late Frederick John Alberto and the late Margaret Grace (Devinanzi) Alberto.
Beverly grew up in Milford, Massachusetts. After high school she went on to attend Framingham Union School of Nursing earning her R.N. degree which led to a career in the Emergency Department at Framingham Union Hospital. She lived in Milford, MA until she remarried Greg Ferrara on Valentine’s Day in 1979 and then relocated to Georgia. After the move, Beverly worked in the ER at Cobb General Hospital and later Georgia Occupational Healthcare. Upon leaving the medical field, she worked with Edward Jones Investments until her retirement in 2005. Beverly was an active member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs, GA, a member of Powder Springs Women’s Club and enjoyed spending time with her friends playing Bunco.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Greg Ferrara, of 39 years. She was a devoted wife and “Umma”, as her grandchildren called her. She is also survived by her daughter, Kristen (Chickering) Whitworth and her husband, Dr. Troy Whitworth of Powder Springs, GA as well as her stepson, Jay Ferrara and his wife, Lori of Chepachet, RI. Beverly had three grandchildren who meant the world to her, Hunter Whitworth (age 18) and BaileyAnn Whitworth (age 15) of Powder Springs and Jaden Ferrara (age 4) of Chepachet.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 14 from 4 until 8 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home in Austell, Georgia. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs, Georgia on June 15, 2018 at 12 noon. Burial will be held in Milford, Massachusetts next week. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Alzheimer’s Charity Fisher Center.
