Betty Kitchens' Obituary
Betty Hogue Kitchens, age 84 of Buford, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, soul mate, and friend, Ray Kitchens, in 1984; their granddaughter, Kay Cee Herring in 1999; parents, Frank and Ella Mae Hogue; brothers, Harold, C.W., and Broadus Hogue; sisters, Mary Hogue, Wilma Daniell, and Larue Mitchell. Betty and Ray raised their two daughters and lived in Mableton all of their married life. Betty moved to Buford in 1987 to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ginny and David Herring of Buford, Elaine and Mike Hansard of Buford; grandsons, Chad and Monica Herring of Buford, Michael and Caitlin Hansard of Winder; granddaughter, Deanna Hansard of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Christian, Katrina, Amelia, and Denver Herring, and Harper Hansard. She is also survived by her oldest and only remaining sibling who will be 100 years old this year, Frances Morris of Mableton; as well as many, many nieces and nephews and their families. Betty's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 PM until 8 PM. The funeral service to honor her life will be held at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Mt Harmony Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory in Austell.
