Betty Joyce Conn's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Joyce Conn, age 90, of Austell, GA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
Joyce was born April 5, 1933 in Red Oak, GA to her loving parents, Virgil and Edna Stacks.
She was a proud Christian and was known for her joyful personality, sense of humor, feistiness, and loving nature.
Joyce worked for Cobb County Schools Transportation as a school bus driver for 30 years, retiring in July of 2007. She loved dancing, singing, and playing piano. She was very creative and loved crafting. In her healthier days, she loved watching the Braves and adored “all things Elvis Presley”. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. “Sonny” Conn; daughter, Deborah Brookshire; brother, Irvin Stacks; granddaughter, Hadley Miller; and great grandson, Aiden Jackson.
She is survived by her children, Jacquelyn Ayo (husband, David), Harold Preston (wife, Kathy), Terry Everette (husband, Kenny), and Victor Conn (wife, LeAnne); son-in-law, David Brookshire; grandchildren, Steven Miller (wife, Shannon), Jennifer Moscarello, Natalie Murray (husband, Paul), Chad Everette (wife, Lauren), Wayne Ayo (wife, Lauren), Dustin Preston, Morgan Jones (husband, Christian), Benjamin Preston, Emmaline Conn; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 31, 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Chaplain James Kenton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 PM before the service.
