Betty Lee Greer's Obituary
Betty Lee Greer, age 89, of Mableton passed away February 12, 2023. Betty was born to Starlin and Virgie Higgins in Atlanta, and raised in the Mableton area, where she spent a majority of her life. She was a proud bus driver for Cobb County Schools. She loved the kids on her routes and retired from driving after 50 years of service. Betty was a devoted mother, always carrying her kids back and forth from little league and investing her time and love into their care. In later years, she enjoyed going on adventures with her son, Danny, in his motorhome. She loved it so much that she threatened to sell her house and live exclusively in the RV. Another joy in Betty’s life was the close-knit group of bus drivers with whom she planned outings. Betty was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Lee Greer, Jr.; sons, Danny Greer and Jimmy Greer; and siblings, LaNelle Price and Marilou Padgett. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Greer (partner, Barney Mathews) of Dallas and Patricia Greer of Austell; granddaughter, Mary Lee Greer; great-grandchildren, Bella, Natalia, and Enzo; and extended family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17th, 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Riverview Memorial Park.
Flowers are gratefully accepted, however, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner’s Children Hospital at https://lovetotherescue.org/
