Betty June Branton's Obituary
Betty June Stitt Branton, born in Atlanta in 1933 and a longtime resident of Austell, went into the long awaiting arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Ausust 1st, 2015, at the age of 82. She is now pain free and flying with the Angels, Praise the Lord!! She lived a long, blessed life as a loving homemaker and was always a willing participant in her four sons Scouting and sports endeavors. She loved to volunteer at her Church and was a member of the W.M.U. at Orange Hill Baptist. She then transferred to Mt. Pisgah Baptist, where she always looked forward to time with her Bible Study Group. An avid reader, she really enjoyed reading about foreign lands and people although she never got to travel to the place that seemed to tug on her heartstrings the most, the Holy Land of Israel. She passionately observed nature when she could, and with a keen eye for detail wrote many journals of her thoughts, comments and ideas. We are so grateful to now have those journals as a lasting and precious part of her legacy. Our homes are also blessed in having constant reminders of Betty in that she was very gifted in craft making and enjoyed immensely giving her creations to others.
She is survived by her four sons, Chris T. Branton of Carrollton, Kerry L. Branton of Cumming, Mark J. Branton of Austell, and Paul J. Branton of Woodstock. She is also survived by two sisters, Norma Bandy of Smyrna and Nancy Hardwick of Austell, as well as two beloved grandchildren, Alison Matthews of Woodstock and Daniel Branton of Cumming. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as many grand nieces and nephews that were very dear to her. Preceding her home was another beloved grandchild, Matthew Branton of Cumming, along with her two half-siblings, Bert Graves of Atlanta and Francis Anderson of Atlanta. Lest I forget to mention, (and I know she wouldn’t like that!) she is also survived by her best friend and constant companion, her cat Boss.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Kidney Foundation on her behalf. She always wanted to have lots of flowers around her while she was still able to enjoy them in person and we complied as well as the weather and our so-so green thumbs would let us!
Funeral services will be provided by Davis-Struempf in Austell with visitation on Saturday, August 8th between 1 and 3pm with the service commencing at 3pm in their chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. Shalom
