Betty Jean Alexander's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Jean Alexander, age 78 of Acworth, formerly of Mableton, passed away July 4, 2013.
Betty Jean retired after 20 years from WellStar Cobb Hospital as the switchboard operator. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dallas where enjoyed singing in the choir. Her hobbies included her grandchildren and crosswords puzzles but her favorite thing to do was taking care of her family.
Her husband, Curtis Alexander, preceded her in death and she is survived by her four sons: Gary Alexander of Acworth, Alan Alexander of Savannah, Joel Alexander of Jasper, and Mark Alexander of Gainesville; her grandchildren: Shane Alexander, Sarah Pearce, Shannon Taylor, Katisha White, Cassie Alexander, Bradley Alexander, and Amber Leigh Alexander; great-grandchildren, Ashton Pearce, McKenzie Cochran, Taylor Cochran, Jenna White, Mason Taylor, Caleb Bryce Taylor; her sisters: Louise Dillinger of Clover, SC, and Rita Ann Veenhuis of Grand Blanc, MI; and brother, Ricky Dial of Idaho.grandchildren, Ashton, McKenzie, Taylor, Jenna, Mason, Caleb, and Bryce; her sisters: Louise Dillinger of Clover, SC, and Rita Ann Veenhuis of Grand Blanc, MI; and brother, Ricky Dial of Idaho.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 8 PM and Saturday, prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM. The funeral service to honor her life will be held at Davis-Struempf Chapel on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Harold Weatherford officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
