Bertha "Inez" Wilson's Obituary
Inez Wilson, age 91, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2025.
Inez was born to Posey Wade and Bertha Thomason Wade and raised in Clarkdale, Georgia.
Inez had a beautiful alto voice and she loved to sing. As a teenager, she was a member of a Quartet and they sang gospel songs every Sunday on the radio.
In 1953, Inez married the love of her life, Henry Wilson, and they had 72 wonderful years together.
She worked at Springhill Pharmacy as the head cashier until they closed.
Inez was a devoted member of Doss Memorial Baptist Church for many years. She sang in the church choir, which was her Sunday happy place.
Inez loved to attend country music and gospel concerts. She traveled to Nashville Tennessee every year for Fan Fair, Gospel Quartet conventions and country music award shows. Her favorite country singer was Conway Twitty.
Most of all, she LOVED being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, her brother Clyde Wade and sister-in-law Jeanette Wade.
She is survived by her children Pamela, Michael (Gail) and Paula (Dale). She has 4 grandchildren Kara (Chris), Lauren (Gary), Christopher (Nancy), and Ashley. In addition, she has 8 great grandchildren Lindley, Siena, Jacob, Samuel, Lucca, Landen, Cali and Chase.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, November 2, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
A funeral service celebrating Inez's life will be held on Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 p.m. in the Davis-Struempf Chapel, with Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
Interment at Powder Springs City Cemetery will follow the service.
