Beatrice Honea's Obituary
Mrs. Beatrice Ruth Hollis Honea of Powder Springs, passed away May 31, 2011 at the age of 90. Mrs. Honea was a member of First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, and she also held many offices, including: Treasurer of Loreley Resort, Administrative Manager for the GA State Dept. of Education, The AWSCPA (American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants) Fiscal Officer of Community Council, and Chief Statistician for United Way. “Mamaw was a very independent, strong, and beautiful woman. She gave everyone she met a memory to remember forever.” She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh T. Honea; children, Mark Honea, Rebecca Baker, and Sheila Newport. Surviving her are her son, Timothy Honea of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Kelly Crenshaw, Pat & Alicia Newport, Terri & Alan Harris, Erin & Ashley Starr, Jeannie Collins, Brian Honea, Danny & Marie Baker, Gavin Baker; son-in-law, John Newport; sisters, Mary Warren of Douglasville, Loretta Hollis Kelly of Union City; brother, James & Linda Hollis of Satellite Beach, FL; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and her caregiver, Jamonda Wise. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, 4-8PM. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Powder Springs on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mike Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
