Barbara Eugenia Walker's Obituary
Barbara Eugenia Walker, age 81 of Dallas passed away August 30, 2024.
Barbara was a devoted volunteer at First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs where she helped at the nursery during Sunday school. Her kindness and dedication were a testament to her godly character. She worked as a paraprofessional on the Cobb County school board through the early 80’s to the late 90’s where she touched the lives of many children and colleagues. Her commitment to education and her ability to connect with others made her a cherished friend and mentor.
Despite losing her sight in the late 90’s, Barbara continued to live a life full of purpose and grace, inspiring those around her with her resilience and faith. She was a friend to many, always offering a listening ear and a helping hand. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tommy Walker; parents, Eugene and Tommie Lee Wylie; brother, Raymond Wylie; and sister, Judy Alexander.
She is survived by her children, Dan and Alan Walker; sister, Lisa (Phil) Smith; grandchildren, Zach, Audrey (Jacob), and Will; great-grandchild, Walker; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service honoring Barbara’s life will be held Friday, September 6th 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Mike Sinyard officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation before the service from 10 AM – 12 PM. Interment will follow the service at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.
