Atalie Margarite Andressen's Obituary
Atalie Andressen, a long time resident of the Mableton area, died unexpectedly Monday, May 18th at Wellstar Cobb Hospital.
Born 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Atalie attended Mt. Carmel Academy and received a Bachelor degree of science in English Literature from Tulane University in 1963. She further continued her education writing arts and American sign language.
Atlalie was involved in numerous clubs and associations. She was a member of Georgia Romance Writers, Red Hatters Society, Georgia emergency response team, master driver and instructor and earned a black belt in karate. She worked in the medical field for years until her retirement.
Atalie enjoyed good food, socializing, fitness, writing and going to the movies. She had a genuine smile and conversation that could light up a room. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends, daughter and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Kristen Clayden, Husband Dexter Andressen, Son Keene Sims and the two sparkles in her eyes, her grandchildren Carson and Kaitlyn Clayden, 3 nieces Jeannine Fazande Scamardo, Nicole Fazande Larson, and Jennifer Fazande Wheeler, and Nephew Sean Fazande.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 27 at 10 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church. The family will have a reception at 11:30 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory.
Memorial gifts may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, American Cancer Society, and Children’s Cancer.
