Anthony Montrose's Obituary
Anthony Montrose, age 63, of Smyrna passed away November 12, 2022.
Anthony was born in Paterson, NJ to Frank and Jean Montrose. He spent a majority of his childhood in Paterson, but moved to West Milford where he graduated from West Milford High School.
After graduation, Anthony joined the United States Army. He was very proud of his service as a military police officer, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. His service took him all around the world, from Germany, to South Korea, to Greece. Following the army, Anthony worked for MARTA Police, then joined Smyrna Police Department as a police officer, from which he retired after 24 years of service.
Anthony was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan, and loved watching both teams. In order to keep his skills sharp, he enjoyed spending time at the gun range with his daughter or friends. He was a loving man who always put others before himself. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Frank Montrose and Jean Montrose. He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Ducker (husband, Brian) of Charlotte, NC; siblings, Marianne Stalter of West Milford, NJ, James Montrose (wife, Shelley) of Jacksonville, FL, and Robert Montrose of Blakeslee, PA; grandson, Brennen Ducker; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19th, 3:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Troy Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM before the service.
