Anna Bloedow Barnes' Obituary
Anna Maria Bloedow Barnes, age 70, a dear daughter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friends to creatures great and small, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 13, 2025 at her home in Powder Springs, Georgia. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, a daughter of the late Richard and Catherine Bloedow, and grew up in Mableton, Georgia.
Anna was a graduate of South Cobb High School and worked at several local businesses before finding the love of her life, Chris Barnes. She and Chris loved the outdoors—from hunting and fishing to visiting the mountains to enjoying time at the beach. It was not long before she and Chris had twins, Brittney and Christy, to occupy their time. The great outdoors remained along with lots of softball activities which Anna love to watch her girls play. The family relocated from Mableton to Powder Springs. As grandchildren were born, they became her beacon of joy—she loved their visits and outings together. She carried a melody in her soul, weaving music into every corner of her life—from the raw power of classic rock to the heartfelt twang of country, and the soaring spirit of gospel. Her love for music was boundless, an eternal soundtrack to her every moment. Family get-togethers for special occasions and holidays brightened her days, especially when it included lots of sweets!
Anna was survived by her loving husband Chris Barnes, daughters Brittney Barnes Rasmuson (husband Derrick Rasmuson), Christy Barnes Anderson (husband Phillip Anderson); four grandchildren Gabriella Anderson (15) Tate Anderson (13), Aubrey Rasmuson (6) and Dillon (4); brothers William Bloedow and Flint Bloedow (wife Rosa Ojeda-Bloedow); and many wonderful nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She will also be forever remembered by her extended family and many friends she touched in her life.
Anna was preceded by her parents Richard V. Bloedow, Sr. and Catherine Bloedow, brothers Richard V. Bloedow, Jr. and Ray Coogan “Coogie” Bloedow and sister Bonnie I. Bloedow.
