Ann Jean Collins' Obituary
Anna Jean Townsend Collins, age 92, of Austell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025.
Born on July 26, 1933, in Villa Rica, Georgia, Ann was the beloved wife of the late Clifton Augustus “Skeet” Collins. She led a full and joyful life rooted in faith, family, and community. Ann began her career at Davisons in downtown Atlanta and later worked at Austell Elementary. She went on to spend many years in banking, serving as a loan officer at Austell Bank before retiring from C&S Bank. Her dedication to her work and her warm spirit earned her the respect and friendship of many. She also served on the Austell Gas Board and was an active member of Austell First Baptist Church, where she faithfully gave her time and love.
Known for her fun-loving nature, Ann enjoyed bingo, playing cards and board games, and working on puzzles. In her high school years, she was a cheerleader and proudly voted “Best Personality”—a fitting tribute to her bright and joyful spirit that stayed with her throughout life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Effie Townsend; six sisters; two brothers; and her beloved granddaughter, Danielle Renee “Rosebud” Collins.
Ann is lovingly survived by her children, Clifton and Gloria Collins, and Michael and Faye Collins; grandchildren Cody, Wendy, Ashley, Abbey, and Stephanie; and seven great-granddaughters who brought her endless joy.
Her family and friends will remember her for her warmth, laughter, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 26, at Davis-Struempf Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a service from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
