Ann Earlene Carden's Obituary
Ann Earlene Carden of Mableton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025 after a period of declining health.
Born to Ruth Lillian Popham and Earl Pollard Popham, Ann grew up surrounded by the love of her family. She later married the late Ed Carden, with whom she shared a life of devotion and care for 49 years before his death in 2015.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Shonda Pritchett, and son-in-law, Craig Pritchett, who were the joy of her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her remaining sisters, Ellen Whitehead of Mableton, GA; Marcia Stewart of Texas City, TX; Dot Ross (David) of Morrow, GA; and Pat Klitzing (Jeff) of Easley, SC. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will carry forward her memory with love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Earl Popham; her husband, Ed Carden; and her sister, Sara Popham.
Ann will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She was truly a blessing in the lives of those who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed. She devoted her life to serving others, living with a generosity of spirit that touched everyone who knew her. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, steadfast support of her family and friends, or her commitment to helping those in need, she exemplified a life of compassion and selflessness.
She will be remembered not only for what she did, but for who she was-a source of comfort, strength, and love. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she enriched, and in the example, she leaves behind of a life well lived in service to others. Her unwavering faith in God carried her through every challenge in life, and she shared that same faith and encouragement with all who knew her. Her very life was a living
testament to God's grace and love.

A memorial service to honor Ann's life will be held at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1 :30 PM and the service will immediately follow in the chapel at 1:30 PM, officiated by Rev. Bill Rorie. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM at Georgia Memorial Park.
