Anjanet G. McCollum's Obituary
Anjanet “Anjie” G. McCollum, age 59, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully June 4, 2025.
She is the daughter of William Howard McCollum and Valerie Leffew Franciso and was born in Atlanta, GA. The family resided in Smyrna during her childhood, and Anjie graduated from Campbell High School, Class of 1984.
Anjie dedicated 24 years of her professional life to Home Depot Corporate, where she was a valued and respected colleague. Her strong work ethic, dedication, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with.
Faith was a cornerstone of Anjie’s life and she was a member of First Baptist Church of Smyrna.
In her free time, Anjie embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She had a deep love for music and often traveled across the United States to attend concerts, creating unforgettable experiences and collecting memories along the way. She also had a special place in her heart for all animals and deeply treasured her beloved cats, who brought her great comfort and companionship throughout the years. A devoted fan of Mexican food, Anjie especially enjoyed her weekly outings to La Parrilla, where good food and laughter were always on the menu. A proud Georgian through and through, she loved cheering on the Atlanta Braves and UGA football, and was always ready to celebrate a big win with friends and family.
Anjie is preceded in death by her father, William Howard McCollum; and grandparents, Howard & Cordelia McCollum and Charles “Buddy” & Mildred Leffew.
She is survived by her loving mother, Valerie Leffew Fransico of Mableton; cherished brother, Kennon McCollum (Matt Davidson) of Atlanta; step-mother, Sue McCollum; step-sisters, Theresa Roland (Doug Roland) and Tracy Perry (Paul Perry); and many beloved extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, June 8, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
A funeral service honoring Anjie’s life will be held Monday, June 9, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Donna Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Georgia Memorial Park.
Flowers are kindly accepted, with pink being Anjie’s favorite color.
