Andrew Devon Williams' Obituary
Andrew Devon Williams passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023, with his mother, Angela Williams and brother, Cullen present with him in Japan on their world trip. The family had planned the trip during the pandemic in 2020 and had to postpone it until this fall. It was a lifelong dream of Andrew’s to travel to Japan and visit Tokyo Disneyland. Andrew faced his life with much love, inspiration, and excitement. He especially loved spending time with his family—his mom, brother, Papa and Nana, (Grandparents), Phillip and Shirley Williams, and visits from extended family members.
Andrew had a love for all things Star Wars, anime and watching Disney movies with his brother. He enjoyed writing fanfiction anime with his friends. His favorite song is “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. He also enjoyed cooking shows, anime, video games, and anything that would make him happy and enjoy his life! During his lifetime his family went on Disney Cruises, driving trips to Disney World, a European trip to Vatican City, Massachusetts, California, and Hawaii. His mom provided Andrew so much for his life and never set any limits on what Andrew could experience in his lifetime. Angela gave him the world and Andrew gave the world tenfold to every person he encountered. His elementary, middle, and high school teachers admired his inspiring smile and “go get you” attitude! He attended some college online as well and had an interest in developing video games. Andrew is the very first in the Williams family to live a life until the age of 26 with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. As an amazing and intelligent young man, Andrew never let his chronic disease define him as an individual. He faced the disease each day with hope, courage, strength, positivity and support from his family members and healthcare professionals, who loved knowing Andrew!
Andrew is predeceased by his grandmother, Shirley Williams (2015) and survived by his mother, Angela Williams, brother, Cullen, (Georgia), grandfather, Phillip Williams (Georgia), aunt and uncle, Phyllis Williams-Thompson and Chad Thompson (Massachusetts), aunt, Charlene Comeaux (California), uncle, Robert Kern (Idaho), numerous cousins and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life for Andrew will be held on November 4th, 11:00 a.m.at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1975 East-West Connector, Austell, GA 30106.
