Amelia Launa Newsom 's Obituary
NEWSOM, Mrs. Amelia Poindexter Newsom, age 89, of Austell passed away Friday, July 12, 2013. Amelia was a member of Clarkdale United Methodist Church for over 55 years and retired from Six Flags Over Georgia as a wardrobe inspector. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Newsom. Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Betty Newsom of Austell; grandson and wife, Matthew and Erin Newsom and their daughter, Emeline Gayle of Powder Springs; grandson and wife, Wesley and Maggie Newsom and their son Harris of Powder Springs. Also surviving are her sister, Inez West of Bevard, NC and brother, James Poindexter of CA. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 14th at 3Pm with Rev. Cindy Conner and Rev. Scott Pickering officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm prior to the service. Interment will be at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarkdale United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 3, Clarkdale, GA 30111.
