Alice Walker's Obituary
Mary Alice Walker, age 86, of Austell passed away May 18, 2021. Alice was a vivacious woman who loved to play her guitar, ride Harley’s, and she had a passion for animals. For a long time, her great joy was playing guitar and singing in her church. Alice retired from Cobb County Schools as a lunch lady, and took pride in feeding her children and their friends, as well as the children at the schools where she worked. Children would recognize her when she was out and about, and come up to speak to “Mrs. Walker” or “Mama Walker”. Alice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, James Nathan Walker; and son, Robbie D. Walker. She is survived by her children, Jimmy (wife, Rosslyn) Walker of Mableton, Steve (wife, Cindy) Walker of Forsyth, and Anne (husband, Michael Seaman) Walker of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Bo, Josh, Erica, Daniel, Catie, Alicia, Anna, and Erin; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Hemby.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please contact family for details.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Alice’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org
