Albert G. "Al" Weber's Obituary
Albert George Weber, III, of Mableton died on March 17, 2010, following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marilyn Hopwood Weber, his daughters and sons-in laws: Jennifer and Shayne Petracca, and Laura and Scott Jones; and his son and daughter-in-law Chris and Carol Weber. He was predeceased by his son, Albert George Weber IV. He was blessed with three grandchildren, Eric Jones, Rachel Jones and Olivia Weber. His fourth grandchild is due in April. His sister Cathy Weber Parrish resides in Polk City, FL, and his brother J. Rick Weber resides in Lilburn, GA. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. Al was born on May 15, 1941, in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Father Ryan High School and Peabody College (now part of Vanderbilt University.) He met his wife, Marilyn while at Peabody and they were married in September 1963. Accepting a position at Amarlite Aluminum Company in December 1965, the family moved to Atlanta, and eventually moved to and settled in Smyrna in January of 1968. Mr. Weber was most currently employed at First American Resources in Mableton. He was ordained a Permanent Deacon of the Archdiocese of Atlanta on February 8, 2003. Deacon Weber served at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Smyrna, where he had been a member for 42 years. Visitations will be at the funeral home on Monday from 2 - 4 PM and 5 - 7 PM. The Rosary will begin, after the visitation, at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Resurrection will be on Tuesday, March 23rd at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Smyrna. Rev. Eugene Barrette, M.S. will be the celebrant.
