Wynette Goodman Lovvorn, age 88 of Powder Springs passed away peacefully at her home on February 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Wynette was born January 7, 1934 in Cuthbert, Georgia. She was the backbone of her family who dearly loved them and cherished her friendships. She made a huge impact on others by her Christian example and incredible gifts of love. Her caring for others was unsurpassed and her servant’s heart deeply appreciated. She inspired many to be a better mother, daughter, sister and friend. She has been a wonderful servant that has done God’s works through all she has given of herself to her family and friends. Wynette was a member of First Baptist Church of Powder Springs where she sang in the choir and served as treasurer of her Sunday school class. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Cobb County School system for 33 years, most of those years spent at South Cobb High School. She devoted her time to taking care of her grandchildren and family after retirement. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, decorating cakes, playing cards, cooking (best cook in the world) and going to the theatre. Wynette was thankful for the 18 years she spent at Silver Springs Village where she developed many lasting friendships. She was a devoted wife, proud Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, and a friend you could always count on. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Elwyn Hugh Lovvorn; brother, Dewey Goodman; sisters Elva Kirkland, Sudie Daniels and Louise Lunsford.
