Tony LeMar Akers, age 35, Mableton was called home to be with God on June 12, 2019. Tony was an awesome uncle to his nieces and nephews. He loved Colorado sports teams, especially the Broncos. Tony will be remembered as a faithful member of Hurt Road Baptist Church, as well as being an athlete with Cobb County Special Olympics. He also loved professional wrestling, WWE, Monday Night Raw, and Tuesday Night Smackdown. A graduate of Campbell High School, Class of 2003, he worked for Publix In Vinings since 2004. Tony is survived by his parents, Spin and Denise Akers; siblings, Elnora Redd of Mableton, Terrell Akers of Rock Island, LeKeisha Brown (Cornelious) of Iowa, Terresha Akers, LaToya Mitchell of St. Paul, Sentra Busbee (Kareen) of Florence, Brittany Watts of Myrtle Beach, Shaniha Boggan of Decatur, and Makia Boggans of Decatur; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 22, 11:00 AM at Hurt Road Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 AM before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Cobb County Special Olympics.
