Frank Eugene "Gene" Gordon Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Frank Eugene “Gene” Gordon, age 83, of Mableton went home to meet his Lord and Savior June 27, 2022. Gene was born and raised in Commerce, GA, and graduated from Banks County High School in 1956. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Gloria Lee Steadman. Gene had a long career spanning 40 years with Sears & Roebuck, where he worked in sales and general contracting in their Remodeling and Design departments. When it came to making sales and knowing his product, Gene excelled, and even won a National Sales Award in 1998. In his free time, Gene loved woodworking, fishing, and was an avid sports fan. He would follow many teams, but the teams that were most special to him were the UGA Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Gene was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose kindness and genuine spirit will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Gene is preceded in death by his mother, Reba Gordon Ogles. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gloria Gordon; children, Kerry Gordon (wife, Robin) of Dallas, Lisa Cottrell (husband, Greg) of Mableton, and Dawn Utt (husband, Todd) of Canton; grandchildren, Nicholas (wife, Lindsey), Cory (wife, Brooks), Tyler (wife, Katie), Zachary (wife, Katie), Lauren (husband, David), and Morgan (husband, James); 10 great-grandchildren; and many beloved family and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30, 4:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Mike Linch officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
