Huey Joe Theus, age 75 of Mableton, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Huey, an artist, was elected to the office of State President of the Georgia Jaycees and retired as marketing director of the Georgia Department of Labor Read Obituary
I bought one of his paintings at a thrift store many years ago and I still have it. I'm an Artist myself and I love old houses from days gone by.
I knew Huey and his family many years ago in Cordele. My parents were J.T. and Ora Rowland. My sister was Laverne and brother, Autry. Praying for the family.,
I know this has been a while back but I admired Huey's artistic work. I have his pix of the 4 seasons, purchased at an antique mall several yrs back & still haven't got them framed. God bless you all. Shirley Womack Calhoun
I remember Huey as a nice man who "walked among kings but never lost the common touch." He was an excellent artist. He could draw and sketch anything.
I worked with him for a short while and when I departed he bought me a very nice gift. We had lunch together. He would talk with you on any subject. He had a lot to offer. He could make you laugh.

I worked with Huey in GA Dept of Education. He was a joy to know. I have a pencil sketch he drew on boring rainy day in GA Twin Tower East,

I am From cordele i only meet Mr.Huey once but thought he was great he was a great artisit such a talent it is a Honor to have so many of his Lighthouses on my walls .so sorry to here of this my mom sent this an i just had to say im sorry an he will be missed i will cherish my lighthouses even more now thank you!

To the Huey family..He was a kind hearted person I am still enjoying the art work he shared with everybody that worked with the labor dept. It start on the walls of my gargage and continue in my home. Thank you Huey A friend that worked in the Thomasville labor department office. Will miss you. Mae Hatcher
