To Our Families
Informational Bulletin on Funerals and COVID-19
An Update from the Office of the Governor
Here at Davis-Struempf, we are making every possible arrangement to keep our families safe and comfortable during this time of crisis. Since many changes have been made and updated over the past month, we would like to outline how we are working to operate within CDC guidelines and honoring lost loved ones in the process. Per Governor Kemp's newest executive order, effective June 16th:
- Gatherings are limited to 50 people unless there can be a 6 ft. distance between each person.
- Live streaming is offered on all services at no additional charge so friends and families can show their support from afar.
- Friends and family that are unable to attend private services may send a Message of Comfort to the family that will be displayed on the pews during the service. This allows the family to physically see the outpouring of love and support of those who wish they could be here with them.
Tissues, hand sanitizer, and reusable facemasks are offered to anyone entering the facility.
We are offering the ability to make pre-arrangements and at-need arrangements via phone and email. If families wish to come in to make arrangements, we are maintaining a 6 ft. distance between people and 10 or fewer people in attendance.
We encourage friends and family members to reach out on the tribute pages (davisstruempf.com) to sign the register book, send/view photos, obituaries and utilize our online sympathy store to send flowers and gift directly to the family.
As the situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, the health and well-being of our clients and staff is our upmost priority. We are committed to a safe environment and have the current measures in place to promote our families, public, and staff safety:
Sick employees are required to stay at home:
Employees with symptoms of acute respiratory illness may not come to work until they are free of fever (100.4 F [37.8 C] or greater using an oral thermometer), signs of a fever, and any other symptoms for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medicines.
Respiratory and hand washing etiquette:
Our staff is intimately familiar with the appropriate protocol. Hand sanitizer and tissues are available throughout the funeral home meeting and public areas.
Routine Environmental Cleaning:
All public and private
areas are routinely sanitized including frequently touched surfaces, chairs,
and doorknobs. All areas are cleaned multiple times daily and at the close of
business each day.
The CDC defines social
distancing as “remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings,
and maintaining distance from others when possible.” At Davis-Struempf Funeral
Home & Crematory we have Live Streaming available to enable friends and
families that wish to view at home or other less crowded areas. We are also
available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week
to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
