Informational Bulletin on Funerals and COVID-19

Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory prioritizes the health and well-being of our staff and guests. We understand this is a fluid situation and we are monitoring and evaluating developments of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

  • In an effort to comply with the executive orders from Governor Kemp and recommendations from the CDC, we will have no more than 10 people at a service, recommend outdoor services, and will offer the option of on-line streaming/recording of the service at no additional cost.
  • Our families that would like to hold a private service at this time will have the opportunity to hold a memorial service at a later date at no additional charge.
  • We are also offering the options of doing the arrangements over the phone, by e-mail, or in person (limited to 10 family members)
  • We encourage friends and family members to reach out on the tribute pages (davisstruempf.com) to sign the register book, send/view photos, obituaries, and utilize our online Sympathy Store to send flowers and gift directly to the family.

As the situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, the health and well-being of our clients and staff is our upmost priority.  We are committed to a safe environment and have the current measures in place to promote our families, public, and staff safety:

Sick employees are required to stay at home:

Employees with symptoms of acute respiratory illness may not come to work until they are free of fever (100.4 F [37.8 C] or greater using an oral thermometer), signs of a fever, and any other symptoms for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medicines.

Respiratory and hand washing etiquette:

Our staff is intimately familiar with the appropriate protocol.  Hand sanitizer and tissues are available throughout the funeral home meeting and public areas.

Routine Environmental Cleaning:

All public and private areas are routinely sanitized including frequently touched surfaces, chairs, and doorknobs. All areas are cleaned multiple times daily and at the close of business each day.

Social Distancing:

The CDC defines social distancing as “remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance from others when possible.” At Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory we have Live Streaming available to enable friends and families that wish to view at home or other less crowded areas. We are also available 24 hours a day  - 7 days a week to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
