On Sunday December 5th, 2021, Jimmy Gaddis, loving Father and Grand-Father passed away at the age of 71. He was born on September 22nd, 1950 in Atlanta, GA to J.P. and Pearl Gaddis. He graduated from South Cobb High School, class of 1969. He received a certification in HVAC from Marietta Vocational-Technical School in 1970. He worked as an Electric Motor Mechanic for 50 years, retiring in 2016 at age 66. He was married to Lucy Caldwell Gaddis for 14 years, they had one son Chris. In his youth, he liked to play baseball, basketball and bowling. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed watching them in the World Series. His favorite past time throughout his life was his love for fishing. He enjoyed fishing for catfish in local lakes/rivers and in the summers traveling to the gulf for saltwater fishing. He enjoyed just being out in Nature and the peacefulness of the sport. In his later years, he took up woodworking and hand crafted several furniture items in his home. His workshop was a place where he found satisfaction in creating, building and sometimes just tinkering. Overall, his greatest joy was being a Father and Grand-Father to two wonderful Grandsons. He is preceded in death by his Father J.P. and Mother Pearl. He is survived by his son Chris, Daughter-in-law Beth, Grandsons Nathaniel and Daniel, Sister Karen Henry, Nephew Jason Goodson, Niece Hastie Camp and Several Cousins. Visitation and Services will be held at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home on Saturday December 11th. Visitation from 10-12pm, with service to follow at Davis-Struempf Chapel. Casual Dress – Come as you are.
