Jane Young Pate Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jane Young Pate, age 85, of Powder Springs passed away peacefully January 25, 2022. Jane was a former member of Orange Hill Baptist Church and Austell First Baptist Church. Jane was proud to be a part of the first full graduating class at South Cobb High School, Class of 1953. In 1960, she met and married the love of her life, Charles T. Pate. Jane was the daycare director at Orange Hill Baptist for many years, and also cared for children in her home. She and Charles’ house was the gathering place for all the kids in the neighborhood; they always knew she would take care of them. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, James and Alma Young; and her four siblings. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Charles T. Pate; daughters, Angela Loudermilk of Powder Springs, Patty Kinney (husband, Michael) of New Castle, PA, and Alicia Watson (husband, Brad) of Lakewood, CO; ten grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Christopher, Chelsi, Michael, Megan, Dakota, Emrys, Thomas, and Lily; seven great-grandchildren; and many beloved extended family members. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 3:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM before the service.
