I was one of his"Jump Time" dancers..my partner was Herman Wright. We also modeled on the show for Kaye B clothing store. I remember he a dance contest and the viewers were to vote for the best couple dancers. Herman Wright aka "Bo: and I Joan aka "Jan" Sheares won the contest. Wonderful program and great outlet for teenagers...He had a young man name Alphonso "Al" who would announce "It's Jump Time!!!! And we would break out into our best moods. "Boo" and I were hard to beat :smiley:. Im disappointed that there are no footages. That's Art Ellison for your vision..
My Deepest Condolences to the Entire Family of Mr. Ellison. I met Mr. Ellison when I was 16 years old in Church in the 70”s. He Hosted as a DJ at one of our Church Youth Dances. He continued to Mentor all of the Youth. Mr. Ellison was an Awesome Man! In addition, he was an Amazing Man of God!.I pray that God comfort each and everyone of his family members. Mr. Ellison always called me by my middle name: LaVoris.
Mr. Arthur Ellison was my hero. I watched him every Saturday as he hosted "Jump Time". He was very popular in Charleston, SC. So sad that we have no footage of the show. Mr. Ellison had a beautiful smile. Grateful to have met him thru my television set.
