Chris Gore, age 62, of Dahlonega passed away August 4, 2015. Chris retired as head of the Art Department at Dawsonville High School after 37 years. He was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are his parents, Ray and Margaret Gore of Read Obituary

Gore family,

I recently heard the news of Chris's passing and wanted to send my heartfelt condolences to you I am from Mableton too. Chris and I attended NGC together. We had many laughs there while putting on plays with Playmakers. He was a bit older than me and was the "technical director" of the club when I came in as a Freshman. He actually taught me how to use power tools. LOL.

We spent a lot of our spare time building sets for shows and learning the theatrical arts. We laughed an awful lot.

He was such a kind soul and a wonderful artist. Life got in the way of our keeping in touch, as it always does. But it sounds like he never changed. I'm sure he will be missed terribly. ♥️

Sadly, I just heard of Chris' passing. We were in school together at North Georgia. Chris was a great friend and I think of him often. I am so sorry for his loss. Chris was the best!

We loved Chris. For more than 30 years, his students came to us with a love for him and a real understanding of art. He was a great teacher. We mourn his passing but know the lives he touched will be an everlasting legacy. We will uphold him.

While we all morn the passing of our good friend Chris we should also celebrate a life well lived. Chris carried himself with a quite dignity and was passionate about his teaching, his art, and his love of classic cars; his passion and love of life was an inspiration to all of us. It would be so hard to write a memory of Chris when we all have so many good ones. Chris is like a book and we all are his chapters, as you can tell some chapters will be big and for me just to have a page or paragraph has been an honor. Ray and Margaret, the light has not gone out, it got brighter because Chris went from artist to Angel. He will be missed so much by all that knew him. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.
