He worked in corporate security for SunTrust Bank and also with the Austell Police Department and Cobb County Sheriff. John was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He made everyone he met feel special. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Boddie Van Antwerp; Parents, Patsy Jo VanAntwerp & John Henry Van Antwerp; Children, Olivia, five and Avery, three; Siblings, Dawn Van Antwerp (& James) Arrendale, Michele Van Antwerp (& Jamie) Carter; Patrick (& Kerri Wallace) VanAntwerp, & Kenneth VanAntwerp; Mother-in-law, Shirley Alford (& Rema) Martin; Father-in-law, Kenneth H. Boddie; Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Lisa & Marvin Mihalak and Terri & Wayne Boddie; Nieces & Nephews: Katherine, Karrie, Kristina, & Chase Arrendale; Destiny Carter; Matt, Samantha & Melissa Mihalak; Christopher, Keith, Rheannon, & Lindsey Boddie; and his Godparents, Dr. & Mrs. Michaelides. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Billy Godwin officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
